Registration for the 17^th Asia-Pacific Federation for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Congress (APFCB 2024) is now open. Please read the registration information carefully before beginning the online registration form.

Registration Entitlements

• Access to all Congress sessions 31 October - 3 November 2024 (Note: Thursday workshops are an additional cost).
• Access to the Exhibition & Posters, Conference app with program & abstracts, Name badge & delegate satchel.
• Daily Catering: Afternoon Tea on Thursday, Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea on Friday - Sunday.
• Ticket to the Welcome Reception held on 31 October 2024

*Student Registration Rates

A student is defined as a holder of a student identification card from a recognised tertiary or secondary educational institution or an international student card. Students must be currently enrolled in part or full-time studies to qualify for the discounted rate. Students will be asked to provide proof of student status during the registration process.

**Low-Middle Income Countries (LMIC) Registration Rates

A low-middle income registration rate is available for countries identified as Least Developed, Low Income or Low-Middle Income Countries and Territories on the Development of Finance Standards list found here.

***Group Registration Rates

Group registration rates are only applicable when purchasing a minimum of four tickets from the same organisation or local laboratory.

Pre-Congress Workshops

APFCB 2024 Pre-Congress Workshops are optional and separate to the Congress Program. Workshops will take place on Thursday 31 October.

Pre-Congress Lab Tours

Laverty Pathology and St Vincent’s Hospital

Join us for a pre-Congress lab tour on Thursday, 31st October 2024. The tour will provide a private visit to two facilities: Laverty Pathology and St Vincent’s Hospital. Numbers are limited.

Thursday 31st October, 2024

8:30am – depart from ICC, Sydney (Location Iron Wharf Place directly outside ICC opposite Sofitel Hotel)
9:00am – arrival at St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst (drop off at Victoria St side De Lacy Building)

• Groups rotate every 10 minutes in different stations

10:15am – reconvene on bus and depart from St Vincent’s Hospital (Pick up De Lacy Building, confirmation of bus parking pending)
10:45am – arrive at Laverty Pathology North Ryde Laboratory (Drop off Giffnock Ave, pending confirmation – bus parking pending confirmation)

• Groups rotate every 10 minutes in different stations

11:45am – reconvene on bus and depart from Laverty Pathology
12:15-12:30pm – arrive back at ICC
13:00-14:00 – lunch at ICC

Social Functions

Welcome Reception

Thursday 31 October 2024

The APFCB24 Australiana-themed welcome reception will take place at the exhibition hall at the ICC Sydney. More details coming soon.

One ticket is included in the registration price. Additional tickets can be purchased for $90.

Congress Dinner

Friday 1 November 2024

The APFCB24 Congress Dinner will take place at Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont, a unique heritage venue with spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The dinner will be Halloween-themed. More details coming soon.

One ticket is included in the registration price. Additional tickets can be purchased for $150.

Payment

• Payment can be made online by credit card or a tax invoice provided with EFT details. Overseas registrants should make payment in Australian Dollars and ensure the transfer bank fees is included in your payment.
• Credit Cards accepted include Visa & MasterCard.

Payment Deadlines

In order to receive the early bird registration rate, registrants must register and pay in full by 20 August 2024. If payment is not received by this date, then registrations will be automatically transferred to the standard registration rate.

Cancellation Deadlines

Cancellation Deadline: 1 September 2024

Cancellations (partial or full) must be made in writing to the Congress Secretariat. Cancellations received prior to 1 September 2024 will receive a full refund minus a $150 administration fee. Cancellations received after 1 September 2024 will not be refunded. Substitute delegates will be accepted.
